Friend or Servant ?

“You are my friends if you keep on doing what I command you.  I do not call you servants any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you [My] friends, because I have revealed to you everything that I have heard from My Father.” John 15:14- 15 AMP

When I read this I got excited. I am a friend of God. Just imagine that for a moment a friend of the King of creation.  This friendship, if understood affects the very way I live from then on.

In Sri Lanka it is who you know that gets you anywhere so I understand the implication of knowing and having friends in high places. This statement from Jesus really takes us to the ultimate level of power and authority and the ability to experience the supernatural and live in a realm that most of us have only wished we could have.

Everything in the Kingdom is about awareness and revelation. If you don’t know you cannot be influenced or experience the power of it.

  1. Awareness – begin to meditate on this truth “I am a friend of God” imagine all revelation all knowledge and understanding dwells in God who is your friend. Friends share things with each other. You can know all things if you take time to be aware of who your friends with now and when you know these truths that are revealed to you, you will be set free to soar.
  2. Encounter – Because you are the friend of God encounters with Him will be frequent and more meaningful and you will begin to reflect His character and heart beat in what you do and say. Dwelling in His presence begins to change the way you do things and the way you live and think.
  3. Co-labour – When you are the friend of God you don’t work for Him anymore but you co –labour with Him. We have a working relationship based on friendship rather than servant-hood.
  4. Status – Our status sets as the friend of God enables us not to be moved but what others think of us. Nor do we need to fit into other people’s opinions or live up to their expectations. As the friend of God we are secure in our relationship with Him and that enables us to live in freedom.

My encouragement to you today is that you choose to become a friend of God this will help you live differently and live a life of absolute freedom and fulfillment.
