Immorality

What is immorality? It is a word derived from the word “Immoral” meaning not conforming to the accepted standards of morality. The bible talks about spiritual, physical, mental, social immorality, here I will be emphasizing on physical immorality which defile the land.

The Bible is clear when it says that if we live immoral lives, it brings a curse on the land.

1. Spiritual Immorality:– according to the word of God when we turn to foreign gods we commit “Spiritual Immorality.  The book of Jeremiah is filled with the sin of immorality because the Israelite’s turned from the living God and prostituting with other gods. ( Jeremiah 17: 1-4; 18:15-17; 3: 6-9;)
   
2. Physical Immorality:–  This sin is done through adultery. The bible clearly says marriages should be “Bigamy” and not “Polygamy”, and marriage should be done between man and woman, the first marriage ceremony took place in the garden of Eden God blessed Adam and Eve. (Gen 2:20-25:) today when we look at society we see men and women are not satisfied with one wife or husband, so they defile the marriage bed by committing adultery (Hebrews 13:4). Another way we live immorally is people living together, today it is called “experimental marriages” they live together and if they are not satisfied with one another they leave and find other means of happiness through homosexual, or lesbian relationships. The bible clearly forbid these evil practices (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:24-29a) the word of God clearly says that such people will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven
   Sadly, modern society accepts these behaviors making all kinds of excuses.
   
3. Mental Immorality, where people have debased minds and are not aligned with the word of God. The Apostle Paul warns us to renew our minds every day with the word of God, but the Godless generation and carnal minded is filled with perverse thoughts, it is contrary to the word of God and brings a curse to the land.(Rom 8:7; Gen 19:5; Judges 19:22-25;) their minds are so corrupted that is why Jesus said do not even look at a woman (Matt 5: 27-28)
   
4. Social Immorality is the fourth that which brings a curse on the land. Today as we look at the society, it is filled with most of the immoral practices.
   
   1. Most of the young children have got into many kind of immoral actions, drugs, sex, alcohol, internet browsing into pron sites etc(Pro 20:1; 5:1-6)
      
   2. Mistreating employers and taking advantage of the employer, co workers, by not paying their wages, not giving them their rights which are due to them. Not working the proper hours, misusing things belonging to the office or workshop, stealing from your masters. (1Tim 5:18; Ephe 6:5-9: Rom 13:8;)
      
   3. Disrespecting Parents, Teachers, Elders and Authorities (Exo 20:12: Deu 17:16: 1 Pet 2:13-17: Pro 20:20; 22:23; 1Tim 5:17; Rom 13:1-7)
      
   4. Ill treating Orphans Widows and the Poor:- today we see even in the Christian circles the orphans, widows and the poor are not given due places, because of their poverty and innocence. (Deu 27:19; Pro 14:31; Isa 1:17; James 1:27; Pro 3:27; Deu 15:7-11).
      
   5. Bribe:- A bribe always perverts justice, today in our nation we know bribe is like a disease  that has spread to all areas from top to bottom, the bible clearly say it is a curse. Deu 27:25; Exo 23:8; Deut 16:19; Eccl 7:7; Pro29:4)

These are some of the Immoral patterns that brings a curse to our lives, families and Land. So let us repent with our whole heart and turn to the Lord to receive blessings and healing.
