OVERCOMING FEAR
What would you say if I said to you,
“You could live free from FEAR?”
Would you believe me or would you jest say, she does not know what she is talking about? Let me show you what God says about Fear –“ I sought the Lord and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalms 34:4). I used to be so fearful but since I began to see and hear what God says in His Word about fear it had freed me from it.
Here are 10 reasons why we should not be afraid.
- God said “FEAR NOT”
Genesis 15:1 – Fear not Abraham; I am thy shield and thy exceeding great reward.
Genesis 21:17- Fear not, for God hath heard thy voice of the land where He is.
Joshua 8:1- Fear not, neither be thou dismayed.
Daniel 10:12 – Fear not Daniel.
Mathew 1:20- Fear not to take unto to thee Mary the wife.
Luke l:30 – Fear not Mary; thou hast found with God.
Luke 2:10 – Fear not, for behold, I bring unto thee good tidings of great joy. - Fear is not from God
If we yield to fear, we are yielding to the worst spirit.
“For God has not given unto us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind; 2Tim 1:7
Don’t yield to the spirit of Fear no matter what! - Fear is like a magnet
The more you fear the more you give access to it. “For thing which I greatly feared is come upon me and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” Job 3:25.
Fear activates the devil like faith activates God. - There is no god like our God.
“ You are my witnesses says the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe me and understand I am He; before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I am the Lord; and besides me there is no Saviour.” (Isaiah 43:10-11).
“Fear you not, neither be afraid; have not I told you from that time, and have declared it? You are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? Yea there is no God; I know not any.” Isaiah 44:8
“Ah Lord God behold Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and outstretched Thy arm and nothing is too hard for Thee.” (Jeremiah 32:17)
“But Jesus looked at them and said, with men it is impossible but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27). - God is on our side
“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Psalms 118:6).
“If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
“For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39).
“Therefore He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25). - God is the Sovereign & Righteous Judge
“That every soul be subject unto the Higher powers. For there is no power of God; the powers that we are ordained is of God.” (Romans 13:1).
“The Lord executed righteousness and Judgement for all that are oppressed.” (Psalms 103:6). - We are Righteousness
Jesus paid the price for us.
“For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who Knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:12).
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree.” (Galatians 3:13)
The only people the devil has a legal right to oppressed are the guilty.
“In righteousness shall thou be established: thou shall be far from oppression for thou shall not fear and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.” (Isaiah 54:14). - We have angels to minister to us.
“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14).
“The angel of the Lord encampeth around about them that fear Him, and delivereth them”. (Psalms 34:7). - We have authority
“Behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19).
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and earth, and things under the earth.” (Phil 2:10).
“Far above all principalities, power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world, but also in that in which is to come; and hath put all things under the His feet and gave Him to be head over all things of the Church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all/” (Ephesians 1:21-23). - God is with us
“Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” (Psalms 23:4).
So having all of these scriptures lead you in a prayer that will help you defeat the spirit of fear in your life.
“Father God, I come to you with the realization that there is so many fears in my life. I ask you to help me overcome these fears…………………………………..(name the fears) From now on help me not to submit to a spirit of fear, but to submit to You Lord God because Your Word is clear in saying that if I Seek You, You will deliver me of all my fears.
I thank you Father, because of You heard my cry and responded because You are a prayer answering God. Thank You Lord for I am confident that this prayer is answered, and I am delivered from all my fears. Amen.
