MARK 4:35-41
Jesus called His disciples to cross the sea, after teaching them a whole day about the Kingdom of God and faith in the parables. Jesus wanted the disciples to leave the multitude and follow Him to the other side.
After teaching His chosen children in many ways through His Word, Jesus is calling His chosen ones to cross the sea and come to a new shore
The Bible clearly says to us that there were many little boats or other boats, but a Great Storm arose and the Waves hit only the Boat the Disciples were in. In our Christian journey we see many walking in their faith walk with us, but the great storm rises and the waves hit only us. Why is that? Why only my family, my mother, my sister, my niece, why, why, why?
In my own life I experienced storm after storm wave after wave from 2007 to 2015. The first Great storm I faced with waves rising and water entering to my life boat was the death of my mother on the 23/07’2007, the only hope, friend love and joy that I ever had, just after one week of her death one of my sisters fell very Ill with an asthma attack and was admitted in the hospital, in the same ward in the same section in the same bed. This really tore me into bits, but I had to face it to strengthen my family, by fighting the battle through prayer my sister survived. Then in the year 2008 on the 1st of July my brother passed away, there was no medical evidence to his death. In the year 2009 on the 2nd of December again my Sister got a severe asthma attack and was put to the I.C.U. and I had to struggle for more than a month with so many negative things spoken about her from the doctors. Anyway God saw her through.
Then again another sister of mine was admitted to the hospital with high sugar levels and 0n the 7th of May 2912 her toe was amputated because of the negligence of the doctors, in the same year my Sister whom survived twice fell sick all of a sudden on the 10th of November went to be with the Lord. In 2014 my eldest sister, fell sick and was rushed to the I.C..U. on the 22nd of December, through much prayer she came through. I believed everything was fine when another storm hit me when my niece fell sick all of a sudden on the 2nd of June and she suffered from a kidney disease which was diagnosed by the Doctors. Every report proved it was negative, she was to be discharged on the 22nd from the kidney hospital but on the 21st she got a seizure her heart beat stopped and she was re admitted into the I.C.U. We kept believing God for a miracle. But on the 2nd of July at 1.30 in the morning my bother received a call from the hospital saying she was serious, I rush with my brother and sister in law to the hospital, by that time she had left this world, my whole world broke down.
I asked God if you are with us why all this to me and my family only, but He was a sleep in my storm.
In the text we see that even though the disciples faced such a tragedy Jesus was in a deep sleep, and like me the disciple accused Him for not taking care of them. Even in our lives we feel that God does care for us, and we are perishing because He is careless about us.
The disciples had wakeup their Master to stop the storm they faced because they knew only the Master can stop the storm. When the storms of sickness, death, pain and agony and the waves of fear, doubt, anxiety and fatigue hit our lives, we should wake our Master turning whole heartedly to Him, even though we know He is with us in the boat, the waters of unbelief can drown us, then only the God who created the storm and sleep in the storm can still the storm for us.
The storms and the waves bowed down to Jesus and the disciples went to the other side of the sea, and they became a part of the great miracles the master was doing. Within these eight years even though I faced many storms and waves I crossed the borders by His grace and His Loving care, today I’m a part of the greater miracles God is doing through the Enforcers.
