Are we Trumped?

For the first time the U.S. is faced with a dilemma like no other. Two Candidates one extremely qualified in my opinion and the other unqualified, who seems to spew out of his mouth things that actually makes no sense at all. Who should the voters choose in this election? I watch the news each day and find it all very confusing, however the Bible makes things very clear on how we should vote for our leaders. Let me give you some pointer to help you with this.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 teaches us to pray for our leaders. I think it is good not only to pray for those already in power but those who are trying to get to that coveted spot.

Proverbs 14:34 tell us that “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people” if that’s the case then we must choose a leader whose beliefs are righteous. Having said that,  both candidates in the U.S. election this time around don’t have absolute righteous tendencies. I would say take the ratio on a scale of one to ten how would they rate in righteousness? The selection of a leader is one who understands God’s righteous standards that eventually will bless the nation.

Proverbs 11:14 – “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisors make victory sure.” Check out the advisors of Trump and Clinton, who is advising them are they godly righteous men and women?  The leader’s advisors will prove how they will eventually lead the United States.

For too long the church has chosen not to get into politics or we have separated church from state. I think this has been to the detriment of our nations. If more righteous blood washed Christians got involved we would  have leaders like Daniel and Joseph of old.

Yesterday I watched Michelle Obama trying to get everyone to go out and vote on election day. I agree with her statement it is imperative everyone who has a right to vote gets out there and cast their vote. Every vote makes a difference. When you vote weigh in the balances ask God for wisdom, ask the Lord for discernment between truth and the lie, so a nation will rise and not fall.

Looking back on the U.S. history you would never have seen such crude and nasty comments thrown at each other amongst the candidates running for the Oval office. There were self sacrificing individuals who actually loved their nation and gave their all. Today I am appalled at the way the run up to U.S. elections have exposed who they really are. They have let themselves down little realizing airing their dirty linen for the world to see and hear which  has brought them so low that we in the East are speechless. This nation that everyone thought was the dream nation today is anything but one.

I as a Sri Lankan writing this,  do so because I pray for my nation, love my nation and I know if we Christians don’t pray this nation would be in a mess. As it is we wrestle in prayer daily to deal with the forces of darkness that try to storm our nation. I appeal to all Intercessors and Christians in the U.S. to rise up and pray your hour has come. It is a make or break situation. I don’t think you realize how serious it is. There is an unseen force that is steering your nation and if the Apostles, Prophets and Intercessors do not sound the trumpet all could be lost spiraling the U.S. into a dark ditch that will cause destruction. I feel a sense of urgency. Pray, pray and pray some more! I would even call the nations to pray for this election because the outcome will have a huge impact on the rest of the world.

Eventually,  the outcome has to be God’s  purpose must prevail. Jesus said “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). When you pray remember it is His will that must be done in the U.S. election.

I had a dream a few nights back as I prayed for this election and asked the Lord to show me what was happening. I was with President Bill Clinton having a chat when I began to prophesy over him he turned to me and said that I should tell his wife who was not with him. So he called her on the phone and we had a video call. Hillary was sleeping in a large room under golden bed sheets and she said “Hi honey,” I woke up for your call she thought it was her husband. I told her who I was and I had a word from the Lord and as I recall I began to tell her that she would be President and after a short while almost in the middle of her term things would change and she will no longer be presiding over the nation. At that moment I woke up. I cannot say beyond what I saw or even if Hillary Clinton will win this election all I know is what I dreamt. I appeal once again to everyone to pray God’s will for this election otherwise it will be man’s will that will prevail may the Kingdom come and may His will be done in the U.S. as it is in heaven.
