I am called quite frequently to bless homes and we try our best to do a thorough job. Some homes need more attention than others. Why is that because of unwanted guests that cause havoc in that home.
It is because of this experience that I thought I will share with you how you can cleanse your home. A friend of mine once called me saying she had a headache and it would not leave. So I asked her what do you have in your home that is causing this headache and she could not think of anything, and mind you this was a Christian girl. I told her I would visit her home and sure enough there was a papyrus painting from Egypt and her name was written in Hieroglyphics the Lord brought my attention to it and I told her well this is what it is. And she couldn’t believe it. However she was willing to get rid of it, with it going out of her home her head aches left. My experience with these papyrus paintings have been almost always anyone who had them in their house had sickness and division in their home. The inmates were never peaceful or happy there was something that cause unwanted trouble.
On a trip to India once and brought back postcards of the places I visited. From the day I got back home I had constant headaches doctors kept telling there was nothing wrong with me. I sought the Lord and he reminded me of the post cards. I found them went through them only to see that there were demon gods etc on them. Immediately I burned the whole lot. The headache vanished. Praise God. I can relate story after story of how homes have received peace and deliverance as a result of throwing out things and getting rid of unwanted guests that have caused havoc in their homes.
Here is a good way to start by cleansing your home.
1. Acknowledge Jesus as Your Saviour. If He is your Lord and Saviour you will have authority to route out any unwanted guest in your house. Romans 9-10. We cannot protect our home if we ourselves are not washed by the Blood of Jesus. Make sure you are cleansed by His blood and can stand before Him without spot wrinkle or blemish, then you are ready to cleanse your house.
2. Cover yourself – Cover yourself your family, your business anything and anybody related to you before going into warfare. You could pray Psalm 91 out loud. Play some worship music. Bind any demonic activity that has been operating in your home and throw it out in Jesus name. Release the light of God into your home.
3. Go to the four corners or the 4 boundary s in your property. Why do I say that? When a house is built here in Sri Lanka especially the 4 corners are dedicates to evil forces they are given rights to rule over your home. Those dark forces need to be uprooted and cast out. After doing that Ask God to wash and cleanse those corners and then apply some oil dedicate the corners to God and apply some oil. Then ask the Lord to release His angels to watch over that place. Cleanse the land and spiritual atmosphere of it in Jesus Name.
4. Take an stock of your home. Ask God for discernment as you look through what you have collected over the years. Including the library of books you have acquired, artifacts, from your travels etc. Let Holy Spirit show you anything that should be thrown out. Deuteronomy 7:25. The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the Lord thy God. It will be good to burn these objects, if you cannot burn them pass them through the fire as a symbol of obedience. Once you have destroyed these objects renounce any affiliation or participation you and your family or business had with it. When you bring these kind of objects you’re your home it gives the legal right for demonic forces linked with that object to stay and cause havoc in your home. Once you have dealt with it you can pray commanding all demonic forces linked with the objects to leave your home in Jesus Name. (Warning: sometime this can be hard, because we have sentimental attachments to these)
5. Cleanse each room in your house. Have you ever walked into a home and felt a bit uneasy? How about someone’s room? A friend had a room painted black once it transpired that when his girlfriend entered the room she felt so uneasy. Eventually she found out he was possessed and had to be delivered. After his deliverance he repainted the room a nice light colour and they rededicated the room to Jesus. If someone else was living in your home before you ask the Lord to show you what needs to be dealt with in prayer in each room. There can be demonic forces in the rooms because of sin or traumas that have taken place. So it will be good to first go through each room in your house and repent for any kind of known sin that was committed. Watch for strange behavior, dreams, fighting, financial trouble, marriage issues coming up that were never there, bad moods, accidents etc that show up after having moved into a new house. Ask the Lord to bring wholeness to you and your family and whatever the devil has robbed to be restored in Jesus Name.
6. Dedicate your home to Jesus. I would dedicate the property boundary, the wall space the ceiling space, the garden space, the floor space, every bit of furniture, literally everything. Don’t whisper these prayers but shout it out. After dedicating it to Jesus you declare Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. That declaration will clinch the deal.
7. Consecrate your land and Home. Go through each room and consecrate each one to Jesus. Declare a special blessing into each room. For example I have declared that my Living room has an open heaven angels ascending and descending and miracles signs and wonders will take place, Salvations will occur, Healings will take place, and we will make history from that room. What do you think that is exactly what we have experienced and keep experiencing. Think about why you have a particular room in that home for go into it and bless it and declare what you want to see take place in it. I usually do this every 6 months. You can use oil to anoint and bless the doors and windows and furniture in your home. I declare and draw a bloodline at the entrance of my house at the gate and then front door and each room.
