Declare and Decree it!

Job 22:27-20 Job 28:27

DECREE  – an official order that has the force of law behind what has been spoken.

A decree is an official order, edict or decision. A decree is something that is spoken or declared before it comes into action. This is what it makes a decree prophetic in nature. A decree can also mean to order, decide, or officially appoint a group or person to accomplish something. A declaration is an announcement a formal statement, or a proclamation. A proclamation actually causes something to become more official. A proclamation can ban, or restrict.

Proverbs 18:21 says – Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Job 22:28 –Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

If the above scriptures are true which I believe it to be then everything we say or declare will be established to us. In fact in Job it says that when you decree something it is established which means its firm, it cannot be shaken, it’s done it is cemented.

Let’s look at Matthew 18:18: Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. KJV

What does this scripture really mean? Legislating the heavenlies – This statement is the process of binding and loosing spoken about in Matthew 18:18. It’s about legislature and legislating the heavenlies. Let me give you some examples….

We had a situation in our country a couple of years ago when the then government wanted to bring in an anti conversion bill to stop Christianity being spread across the land. They tried to submit this bill in parliament to be passed. If it was passed there would have been many bad repercussions. We jumped into action with prophetic action and legislating the Heavens.

What does legislating the heavenlies mean? Simply giving permission or not giving permission for something to take place on the earthly and heavenly realms. So how did we pray against the anti conversion bill?

The Lord led me to decree and declare His Word on the matter. I felt the Lord say to me to get a christian lawyer to use a gavel and hit it hard 3 times after we legislatured against the bill from being passed. We began to see God establish this decree in the nation. All through the Word of God you see many people decreed, declared and proclaimed.

Cyrus sent out a decree that caused the God’s people to return from captivity and rebuild the city of Jerusalem and the temple. Caesar sent out a decree that caused Joseph and Mary to come into Bethlehem and a prophecy was fulfilled with Jesus’ birth. Elijah declared there won’t be rain for 3 years and the heavens shut up.

Have you ever wondered why God’s will is not taking place in part of town or in your city or in your nation as you would like to see happen?

Jesus said “Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

The earth and your boundaries are your jurisdiction you have to make the first decree to see change take place. Why should God do something when He has put you in charge of your village, town, city and nation. When I make the first decree or I legislate the heavens, God then co labours with me to bind what I have bound on earth, in heaven. So the powers of darkness that control the earthly realm are not given permission to reek havoc on the earth. Legislating the heavens is the way to change and transform our villages, towns, cities and nations.

Another way of looking at it is Binding is the word – Duo – which means do not permit and Luo – which means permit in the Greek language. So in prayer and decreeing I can give permission for something to take place or not. What I allow on the earthly realm will be allowed what I do not want won’t be allowed. In other words we are called to enforce God’s laws into existence. This is done as we pray and intercede and declare God’s Word that has life, into being.

May the Lord lead you to decree and declare so you can legislate the heavenlies according to His will.
