We were at this amazing time of worship a few weekends back, the room was filled with people singing and praising Jesus, longing for more of Him, crying out for His presence, when the Lord began to speak to me.
Though we were singing faith building songs and raising our voices to Jesus I sensed there was fear, anxiety and doubt in the room and the Lord was saying “I will always step in and stand up for my children”. I knew that this was a truth we needed to instill in ourselves to the point it sticks and know with no uncertain terms that Jesus will always come through for us, any day. May be not quite the way we had it in mind, but He will.
He then reminded me of three stories from the Bible.
He reminded me about the woman who had suffered with the issue of blood for 12 years (Luke 8:43-48), He said that He ‘stepped in’ and healed her, in fact He never turned back anyone who came to Him with a need, He always healed and delivered them. At least it’s not recorded anywhere in the Bible and I certainly don’t believe He ever sent anyone home empty.
He reminded me about the woman caught in adultery and how the people wanted to stone her. Jesus ‘stepped in and stood up’ for her, He drew a line between the world and her, He protected her even though she was found in sin (John 8:1-11). He always sees us to be more than we see ourselves to be, He sees us as valuable vessels who just need to know their Father in heaven, for it is only then that everything changes.
He reminded me about the story of the woman who was being troubled by His disciples for pouring costly oil on Him. It was Jesus who ‘stepped in and stood up’ for her (Matthew 26:6-13). Likewise if we are being persecuted for walking upright, there is no doubt that Jesus will ‘step in and stand up’ for us.
It is time we start internalizing this truth that will assure us of a greater breakthrough no matter what we are being faced with today. For it is only through faith that we can please the Father (Hebrews 1:6).
Prayer: Lord Jesus, we Thank You Lord for every time You have chosen to ‘step in and stand up’ for us, even at the points we were not aware it was You. Help us Lord to see every situation the way You see it and be filled with Holy Spirit that we are stronger and more able to fight every doubt and anxiety that comes at us in Jesus name we pray. Amen!
