God’s Palm Print in the Indian Ocean

From one man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. Acts 17:26 Holman Christian Standard Bible

When you take into consideration the above scripture does it not make you wonder what the Lord is saying here for us personally and corporately.  Acts 17:26 is one of my favourite scriptures and when I stumbled upon it years ago it changed the way I think and helped me to find my destiny, walking in it every day with such a satisfaction and fulfillment. I am grateful that I don’t need to figure out why I am on the earth anymore. For 29 years of my life I went around asking the questions from my parents and peers why was I born? I see no purpose to life. This scripture showed me so much.

1. Has Determined– He already planned our lives before we were even born. Someone might say that is control. No! God gives us the choice to live His way or our way. It is up to us to choose the path that will enable us to live a life fulfilling our destiny on this earth. If we decide to walk in His choices life will be more meaningful, satisfying and nothing like you ever dreamed it could be.
   
2. He appointed Times– He planned the timings in our lives. You and I have a number of years on this earth to live our lives to the full. Let me ask you this, do you know if you are maximizing your life with the number of days and years you have? Or are you still trying to figure out if there is more to life than the years you have left. Having found my destiny at 29 years of age my life’s journey began.  What a life it has become. Let us not die foolishly throwing away our years without living to the fullest as God intended. God knows the end from the beginning says Isaiah 46:10. You need to change the course of your life now. Involve God’s choices!
   
3. He appointed the boundaries of your living – He planned where we should live. If you are living where you are living why do you think the Lord placed you there? Why am I Sri Lankan? As Sri Lankan’s born in Sri Lanka we have a responsibility toward our nation. Look at the map closely it resembles a palm print. I saw this vision, God takes His palm and sealed the Indian ocean and it was the beautiful Island Sri Lanka.  If God has determined where I should live there has to be a purpose for this. Ask yourself what is my purpose for Sri Lanka. Most of our Sri Lankans go to live abroad giving the best years of their lives to building a foreign mans nation. In my opinion and belief maybe we should give back to our own land.

I have the privilege of having two addresses. I firmly believe it was God Ordained as His Words says. I belong to two zones in Colombo 5 & 7. When we moved into the zone 5 it was  a filthy, murderous, drug infested, poverty stricken area and infested with snakes. If it rained we were marooned and snakes would be in our cupboards, beds and bathrooms. I grew up in a environment like that. Years went by with nothing really changing until I discovered why I was put on this earth and why I was placed where I am now. I gathered two other friends and we began to pray. So much so God began to work with us to change Colombo 5. Today it’s one of the most expensive zones and land prices are sky high. Roads are beautiful and everything you need is available. It’s not a  poverty stricken, snake infested neighborhood anymore. Colombo 7 is also the same having applied similar principles in prayer we have seen so much progress. I consider myself the spiritual mayor of Colombo 5 and Colombo 7. I dare say there is more to be done, however we continue in prayer and see continuous change.
