We are in transition as a nation somewhat like Israel in Biblical times when the nation did not know who they had to put their allegiance in. Was it Saul or David the newly anointed King, therefore loyalties were divided and it seemed very difficult to move ahead as a nation. However there was a ray of hope with the sons of Issachar found in many chapters in the Bible.
“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.” I Chronicles 12:32.
Men who had understanding of the times and also to know what Israel ought to do. This is an eye opener to all prophetic Intercessors and a group that has a burden for the land. Ask yourself the question do you know what God’s will is for the nation you live in or come from? What is your role and how can you get your nation on track again?
In Sri Lanka today we are sandwiched between two regimes an old one and a new one. We seem to be stuck and cannot move forward. Unless the “sons of Issachar” of our nation rise up to their call we are heading for a disastrous end. Let us not lose this great opportunity to pray and seek God’s face for such a time as this. You could even discover your destiny.
The Sons of Issachar were able to do two things
I find in my country we are so good at talking about a problem but taking action is another thing. As the Church in the nation let us make every effort to understand the times we are living and then take the necessary action to change our nation for the better.
The Lord is waiting to work with us personally and corporately to see His Kingdom come and His will be done in Sri Lanka and every other nation as it is in heaven.
Let me encourage all of us to do more for our nation than we have ever done before.
Take time today to pray for Sri Lanka our blessed and resplendent isle the Palm Print of God in the Indian Ocean.
Pray: Lord Jesus I know you are zealous for the land. Please help me to feel the same way about my land as you do. Give me a connection to my country like never before so I will pray and see transformation take place in it. In Jesus Name Amen!
