You are not alone

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalm 46:1-3

This scripture has come to my rescue many times. Once I had a colleague who I did business with who got mad at me and when I had left my office she came in and stole my equipment and wouldn’t give it back. Everyone around me told me I should go to the police go to lawyers but what I did is whisper to the Lord “what should I do Lord?” Immediately this scripture came to mind and I began to have a peace that came over me. Some reading the first portion changed the panic the not knowing what to do the wringing of hands into such a calmness I knew my colleague would return the stuff by afternoon. So with some friends we prayed and encouraged ourselves in the Word of the Lord and we waited. By 4 in the afternoon the phone rang and my colleague shivering and yelling said she will return the stuff and she said she was sorry. She told me that as long as she held on to my stuff she was scared and shivered with fright and had to get rid of my stuff how interesting is that.  God truly is my refuge and strength, and ever present help in trouble.

You may be going through a difficult time and panic may have set in but trust in this Word of God. The only time God is VERY PRESENT is when you are in trouble how amazing is that. In fact He becomes your refuge, your strength in these troubled times. What more can we want. If God is our refuge in these troubled times we are safe and no need to worry about anything. You need strength to go on well let me tell you He will give it to you. Just read the scripture aloud till it gets into your system.

Another time I was diagnosed with all kinds of ailments it was scary to say the least. My friends got very upset and wanted me to go get operated on etc etc. What they kept saying panicked me and I was weepy and scared and just really got depressed and confused. Again I realized this is not the way I should respond to bad news. So I turned to the Lord and said “please Lord speak to me” Immediately this scripture and Psalm 103: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; I began to meditate on this scripture and wow I felt transformed from a scared, whimpering, jelly fish to a strong strengthened warrior of God. I got rid of all the reports and trusted in the Lord to take me through. Boy wasn’t God my very present help in these times.

It’s funny how when we are in trouble we think God is faraway. We probably shout at Him even telling “don’t you care, where are you?, can you hear me? I am in trouble”…. I think this is why God says very clearly that HE A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE.

Today if you are going through a difficult patch and trouble seems to be your present condition. Remember God is with you
